Brittany Higgins, and Bruce Lerman retired from jury for trial; Criticism of Australia and Israel’s decision on Jerusalem. Victoria floods continue; New South Wales and Sydney weather getting worse; NSW government, RTBU battle rages

The town of Kerang in northern Victoria has been cut off from the surrounding areas by flood waters.

Evacuation warnings are also in place for large swaths of Echuca (also in the north of the state). The Murray River, which separates Echuca and the town of Moama in New South Wales, is expected to reach its peak tomorrow.

The authorities are concerned that the river may exceed levels not seen since 1993 when it reached 95 meters above sea level.

In New South Wales, the Murumbidji River flows into Narrandera (northwest of Wagga Wagga). Major flooding is expected downstream in Hai over the weekend.

Forbes moderate flooding continues in West Central NSW. It is likely that the Lachlan River will reach its peak in Condobolin tomorrow.

Rain is expected in both Victoria and New South Wales in the coming days, which authorities say will exacerbate the risk of more flooding.
