Two children have been released from a hospital in Perth after being attacked by a sea lion in Lanceline on Sunday afternoon.
The accident occurred on Sunday with the two children, under the age of 10, with injuries that were not life-threatening. They were given first aid at a local nursing center before they were taken in the ambulance to the hospital.
The two children were attacked by a sea lion in Lanceline.
In 2007, a 13-year-old girl was attacked by the same species while surfing behind a boat in the famous seaside town.
She sustained a broken jaw and cuts to her throat after claiming that a sea lion jumped out of the water like a great white shark and attacked her neck.
Seals are protected in Washington state, with the public required to maintain a distance of at least 50 meters in water, 100 meters in ship and 10 meters on land.

The state government announced last month that it will soon offer a new wildlife experience where Western Australians can get up close and personal with seals.
The experience at Shoalwater Islands and Jurien Bay marine parks – just north of Lancellin – this summer has been proposed with Bye to be the focus of the tours.
If the experiment is successful, it will move to a licensed industry such as Ningaloo Humpback Tours and Whale Shark Swimming.
