After days of heavy rain, the Met Office expects bursts of sunshine to begin this week, before wet weather returns before the weekend.
The Barron River peaked at 3.3 meters on Sunday, leaving streets, fields and parks soaked from Inverleigh to Geelong.
In Wyndham, the Werribee River is currently at an elevation of 1.8 meters after reaching its peak on Friday, creating an emergency alert for people who live on Watton and Werribee Streets.

The combination of more rain and already polluted soil could lead to more flooding.
SES spokeswoman Laura DeWildt said volunteers have carried out dozens of rescues across the state.
“If you are significantly affected, if this is a life event threat, you can call (000) zero,” DeWildt said.

In central Victoria, the Bendigo parade has been canceled to allow the parade grounds to be used as an evacuation center.
Hundreds of homes in Echuca remain at risk with the Murray River not expected to peak until tomorrow or Wednesday.
Thousands of homes are at risk in Shepparton, where the Goulburn River was expected to reach its 50-year peak in the early hours of this morning.
In Melbourne, where dozens of homes were inundated when the Maribyrnong River overflowed its banks over the weekend, today hundreds of beds in the Mickleham quarantine facility will be opened to people made homeless by the floods.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said the government is working to make disaster recovery payments available as quickly as possible.
“The federal government is ready to provide support and assistance,” the prime minister said.
