“Flood operations are being conducted by the Murray Darling Basin Authority at Hume Dam to manage flows from the Upper Murray, Meta Meta River and other tributaries,” the Bureau of Meteorology said in a warning.
The floods will also affect the Echuca region in Victoria, where rivers are expected to reach 95 meters above sea level, she added.

By the end of the week, rising rivers are expected to lead to further isolation and further road closures across the region.
NSW Police confirmed a body was found in floodwaters in central western New South Wales on Wednesday, believed to be that of a 63-year-old man reported missing last week.
Nine emergency aircraft are on standby, along with flood rescue vehicles from the state emergency service Unimog, and the state government has requested 880 Australian Defense Force personnel to assist vulnerable communities in the far west and south of the state over the coming days.
Some 170 rescue operations have been carried out in recent days after people were stranded in flood waters.
In the state’s north, a warning issued Wednesday for severe thunderstorms that hit the towns of Morey, Tamworth and White Cliffs was cancelled.
