Dear Victorian Tennis Society,
Welcome to the October issue of Tennis News Victoria.
At the end of September, we welcomed 26 future leaders participants to Melbourne to gain valuable experience in tennis management over three days, including a leadership workshop, team building and foundation coaching sessions. Each student now dedicates 40 hours of volunteer time to their local club. We can’t wait to see them complete their projects over the summer and continue to increase the ways to recruit and retain volunteers in our sport.
Congratulations to the Victorian 12/U and 14/U teams that competed in Adelaide last week at the National Hardcourt Championships in Adelaide. Ava Beck took second place in the singles and doubles 14/u events along with fellow Victorian Koharu Nishikawa.
Congratulations to Ross Patterson who won the B3 and B4 singles titles, Peter Robinson who won the B2 men’s singles and open doubles titles, and Phoebe David who finished second in the women’s B2 singles titles at the inaugural National Blind and Visually Impaired Tournament last weekend.
In case you missed it, we’ve sent you a file Tennis Victoria 2021-22 Annual Report this week. Tennis Victoria Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 12 October at 6:00 pm. To register for the AGM, please click here.
