“They’re fine, they’re clearly affected by it,” he said.
“Everyone needs time to grieve, sometimes you jump on the bike again and keep going — that’s a way to deal with it too.
“At some point, all his close friends, especially here, will be sad. We will support them as best we can.
“Being so far from home is the thing too. On behalf of the kangaroos here, we offer our condolences to Liam’s family and friends. It has been a sad day and we obviously express our respect.”

A GoFundMe page that Ricky set up to help the Hampson family transport their son’s body home raised more than $50,000 in the first two hours after it was created before pausing donations of more than $70,000.
Hampson played for Tweed Heads in the Queensland Cup before linking up with the Dolphins as a prostitute, and has played 37 games since 2021, including this year’s Grand Final.
