Second man accused of fatal shooting of a man in Korinda


A 26-year-old man has been charged with murder after a man was fatally shot in the chest while trying to interfere in a standoff outside a home in Brisbane.

It comes after a 30-year-old man from east Brisbane was arrested on Friday and also charged with murder.

Police were called to the Clifden Street address in Korinda before 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday where the body of a 38-year-old man from Enala was found.

She alleged a fight between the man and a group of people in the house before he was shot dead.

Following investigations, the 26-year-old Mackenzie man was detained from Vermeer Claus’ Mackenzie home on Thursday.

He was charged with premeditated murder and unlawful use of a vehicle.

He is expected to appear in Brisbane Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Investigations are underway.
